On October 30th and 31st, we are bringing history to life with spooky evening tours of Oakleigh House in mourning. Mourning customs were important to Victorians, especially in muggy, Southern cities like Mobile where disease ran rampant and the Civil War widowed thousands.

This tour will bring you front and center in the middle of a Victorian parlor funeral. Learn about mourning customs and rituals as we travel back in time to 19th century Mobile.

Victorian Mourning Living History Tours will be offered at 7pm on the night before Halloween and Halloween night. Admission is $15.

An exhibit on Victorian Mourning and Spiritualism, featuring authentic mourning items, will be open for viewing.
